Autograph letter signed to Mr. Cheyzaud . One page in-8° on double-leaf paper. Autograph address. Dated 1838 (postmarked).

“My at Cheyzaud, you must now know my volume of natural history by heart, if you no longer need it, bring it back to me. I have urgent things to give to you, come in the evening as usual, and speak to my doorkeeper who will notify me. All yours. “  

An illustrious painter of the 19th century, Raffet will remain as one of the main illustrators of the Napoleonic legend. Two of his paintings dedicated to the retreat from Russia are exhibited at the Louvre.
