Henri Thomas and Jacques Brenner are with Marcel Bisiaux the founding members of the review 84 to which Artaud collaborated before death took him away.

Paule Thévenin (1918-1993) is well known to Artaud admirers. Close friend of the writer during the last years of his life, she was also his legatee. On the morning of Antonin Artaud's death, Paule Thévenin and other close friends took away the author's notebooks, drawings, and all the manuscripts. Despite the claims of the rights holders, Paule Thévenin refused to return the manuscripts and ensured their edition, working for several decades for the publication of the Complete Works, as well as the controversial transcription of the Cahiers d'Ivry.
