“My dear friend, let us meet at the Coupole around 6 o'clock tomorrow, Monday. I will introduce you to a very pretty woman who, I think, resembles a female character from the Marquis de Sade. Dazzle her. She is not mine. She is yours, Artaud.”

Co-founder, with René Daumal and Roger Gilbert-Lecomte, of the journal Le Grand jeu, André Rolland de Renéville (1903-1962), attracted the attention of the surrealist group by the publication of his essay Rimbaud le voyant.

Convicted for the position he took against Aragon during the "Aragon affair" at the beginning of 1932, he continued his poetic trajectory on the margins, remaining a regular correspondent of Antonin Artaud.
