André Citroën and the story of the Yellow Cruise.

“Sir, I have the pleasure of sending you, attached, one of the first copies of the “Yellow Cruise”, an account of the Citroën Central-Asia expedition (3rd GM Haardt Mission, Audoin-Dubreuil) by Georges Le Fèvre, historiographer of the Mission. I hope that these pages will attract your attention and I ask you to accept, Sir, the expression of my very distinguished feelings. PS. I enclose with this shipment a permanent entry card for the Citroën Museum , where the equipment, documents and collections of the Expedition are gathered. »

The Yellow Cruise, also known as the Central-Asia Mission, took place from April 4, 1931 to February 12, 1932 and constitutes one of the most exceptional adventures of the 20th century on a route of 13,000 km between Beirut, Beijing and Saigon. For this third motorized expedition, after the crossing of the Sahara and the Black Cruise, André Citroën wanted this ambitious project to be considered from several aspects, at the same time scientific, archaeological, human but also technological, thanks to advanced vehicles.

Mony Sabin was chief of staff to Théodore Steeg and the author of the book entitled Peace in Morocco.
