André Breton apologizes to a fellow editor of the journal Le Surréalisme au service de la révolution .

“Dear Comrade, I read with extreme pleasure the latest texts you sent me and am preparing to give them the largest possible place in Surr. ASDLR. [Surrealism in the service of the revolution].

I've wanted to write to you for a long time, but time has been scarce, and besides, I've been feeling rather sad about your entirely justified remark regarding an unfortunate word I used. Needless to say, this word has no pejorative or even restrictive meaning for me, and I thought I could use it, rather inappropriately it's true, in this instance, as one does when associating it with the word "epoch" or the word "terrain," for example. (Neither you nor I are particularly fond of the Quaternary period.)

I apologize for writing to you so hastily. But you have planned to come to Paris for Easter, and I wanted to tell you how happy I would be to meet you and your wife. Your friend, André Breton.
